14. When Fish are Present in a Little Deep
I will write about the difference between bass that are just below the water's surface and bass that are in a little deep water.
Example of the Reaction of Bass in a Little Deep Water
For example, suppose a bass at a depth of 80 cm is facing 6 o'clock.
1.
Throw the voluminous lure with an ultra-low trajectory so that it passes from directly in front of the bass to behind it.
2.
When the trajectory of the lure passes over the bass head, the bass body twitches.
3.
The bass body moves and at the same time, it rises a little.
4.
Repeat step 1 and the bass will float just below the water surface.
5.
By the time the bass rises to just below the water surface, their activity has already increased, so as long as don't miss a cast, the bass will bite.
This is an example of when succeeded in getting the fish to bite, but the bass activity was not very high. If the bass are highly active in this situation, they may suddenly rise to just below the water surface and bite the lure with the first cast.
"This situation" means that `"the water is clear, there are no waves on the water surface, and bass in little deep water can find the flying lure in the air.''
Easy to be Discovered, But...
When using this method, I believe that it is easiest to catch bass when they are just below the water's surface. This is because the lure flies right above the bass, making it easier to be spotted, and I think the closer the distance between the bass and the lure, the more likely it is to stimulate the predatory instinct.
However, when accidentally cast lure directly into a bass eye, the bass might get startled and swim away.
This is a problem that occurs when the flying lure is too visible to the bass.
Not Easily Startled, But...
No matter how low throw the lure just above the water's surface, if the bass are in deep water, there is a low risk of surprising them and causing them to flee. However, because the distance between the flying lure and the bass becomes greater, it becomes difficult for the bass to detect the flying lure.
I also think that fish in deep water are often less interested in creatures flying in the air than fish just below the water's surface.
First, Let the Fish Notice
The important thing when fishing for bass that are a little deep is to make them aware of the lure flying through the air. If can't do that, won't be able to make anything happen with this method. Sometimes I throw more than 10 times to the bass at a depth of 1 meter. In this case, I keep casting to give the bass the illusion that the dragonfly is flying about over the water.
However, sometimes the bass does not notice the trajectory of the lure, or even if they do, for some reason they do not come up to the surface, and it often does not pay off. However, if sink a lure, will often be targeting smart bass that will easily see that it is a lure, so it is not a problem even if the number of unrewarded casts increases.
Could say that do it because ``I need this method to catch smart-fish,'' but I feel like saying ``I do it because it's fun'' is more intuitive to me.
